Featured as a soloist at Carnegie Hall and Radio City Hall as well as the U.S. Open and Fashion week, Jane Hunt, known as Violin Venus, combines the power and beauty of classical music with the energy and vitality of other genres such as folk, jazz and pop music resonating with audiences of all ages and all musical interests. It was after her grandfather discovered and heirloom violin in the attic that Jane Hunt first began to play the violin. In May 2005, Jane graduated with a First Class Honors Degree and in the same month auditioned and joined Neo Camerata, an American based String Quartet that were deemed to be "changing the face of classical music by combining the emotion and beauty of classical and the excitement and energy of pop music." Soon after joining Neo Camerata, Jane was invited as a guest soloist to perform with The 3 Irish Sopranos. This led to subsequent extensive tours of USA where Jane performed a mixture of Classical and Celtic music as part of the show. In 2007 Jane created her own show "The Violin Venus Show" which combined classical music with pop, folk and jazz music. Since then she has been touring the USA, South America and Europe with her show. She continues to make regular guest appearance with the Irish Sopranos and Ronan Tynan.
Recordings In 2006, Jane began to explore Celtic and Jazz music which soon lead to an album recorded with members of the Eileen Ivers Band and Original Blues Brothers percussionist Tommy McDonnell. The album entitled "Rebirth" uniquely combines Celtic and Classical music and has received much critical acclaim since its release in 2006. Rebirth has been the main feature on many radio stations across the country. Most recently she has been been working on more original compositions with acclaimed pianist and producer Vana Gierig (Regina Carter : Paganini After a dream), Eanan Patterson and Jamshied Shariffi. Her compositions have been featured at both the U.S. Open and New York Fashion week as well as performing arts centers in USA and in Sout America. The Violin Venus Show combines the power and beauty of classical music with the energy and vitality of more modern genres such as folk, jazz and pop music. This unique sound has captivated audiences of all ages creating a visionary approach to the performing arts. The show resonates with audiences in both large auditoriums and more intimate venues. |
